          The painters-engravers of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century reproduced their own works, or variants of them, using the etching technics. The collection contains works belonging to Theodor Aman, Nicolae Vermont, Iosif Iser, Gheorghe Petrascu, Alexandru Steriadi and others.
          In the last two decades, our institution has grown its etching and etching plates patrimony in such a measure that it can be also named “a museum of etchings and engravings”.
          The Museum of Fine Arts Tulcea is the only institution in the country which collects etching and engraving plates: its collection contains linocut plates, woodcut plates, metal etching and lithographic limestones which totalize 542 pieces of European prestige.
